Although Japan is said to be one of the most advanced nations in information technology, foreigners can rarely find free Wi-Fi network successfully in Tokyo and other major cities.

Today, I'm going to introduce you to a special campaign, that gives tourists the awesome opportunity to have Wi-Fi access for free!
On August Second, 2012, we hosted ‘’A Deep Akihabara Tour’’. The guests this time were students of a Japanese language school. The experience was hosted by five Lolita and Visual-kei Japanese people.
Today, we’d like to introduce an interesting band which mixes Japanese traditional culture with pop culture.
Visual-kei is one of the many famous music genres of Japan, its bands sport remarkable make-up as well as unique costumes.
Typical examples of the visual-kei artists are X JAPAN, LUNA SEA and Kuroyume.
We’re always working hard on improving your experience on FindJPN.com. Today we’re proud to introduce a great new feature we’ve been working on for a while: wish lists.
With wish lists, you can now plan the perfect itinerary, share experiences you’d like to enjoy with friends, or just bookmark the amazing experiences we offer for when you save up enough to finally cross the pond.
It’s simple: when you find an activity you like on FindJPN.com, just hover over it and click the new heart button on photo to add it to your wish list.

You can write a note about it, and even share it with your Facebook friends!
Once you’ve made your wish list, you can view and manage it using the new wish list section of your dashboard.
But what’s best about the wish list feature is that you’re in charge of picking the content. So you can really use your wish list in any way you like:
It is great for planning your trip: you can browse all of FindJPN activities and set aside the ones you want to do during your time in Japan.
You can also recommend a trip to your friends by selecting activities he might like, and suggesting cool activities they don’t know about.
Or you can simply gather activities you love. Take a look at my wish list: I like art and design, so I selected 8 awesome experiences I’d love to join to discover Tokyo’s art, design and architecture world. I hope I will have time to do them all!
Check it out here, and tell me what you think!

The other day on July 7th 2012, a total of nine tourists and students of a Japanese language school experienced a FindJPN activity called “Shopping and Tea Party with Gothic, Lolita, and Punks” hosted by a group called the “Gothic & Lolita & Punk Club (GLP), which is a gathering of lovers of Lolita and gothic fashion. From GLP, a whopping number of 15 people came to the event!
After meeting up at Harajuku station, we strolled down the streets going to “La forre” Harajyuku and other Gothic/Lolita stores chit chatting the whole way.
On June 29th, we provided a TEDxTokyo audience from the Middle East with a FindJPN activity.

They tried out the
Learn Traditional Japanese Comedic Stage Performance activity!

This activity consists of:
• An opportunity to hear “Rakugo” (Japanese Comedic storytelling) in English
• An opportunity to learn how to construct stories and speak like the “Rakugo Masters” from an instructor.
Whether it’s the hottest and most searing day of the summer or its freezing outside, walk to a park in Japan and you’ll see kids playing soccer.
Ever since Japan hosted the 2002 world cup, soccer fever in the country has risen steadily to a point where, now, Japan has nurtured players such as Yuuto Nagatomo (25 years old) who plays for Intel or Kagawa Shinji (23 years old) who plays for Manchester united. There are numerous soccer clubs for youngsters all over the country, building more and more momentum for soccer culture in Japan as well as new talented youngsters.

15 years ago, Japan could barely make it to the World Cup - today, the team is a regular. The women’s national soccer team won the world cup last year. J league – Japan’s professional soccer league – is gaining steady popularity as well.
Since FindJPN’s launch in August, most of our customers have been in numbers of one or two. But on May 19th, we had five customers use our service – showcasing yet another way FindJPN can be implemented.
Five men on a short business stay in Japan used our service. Three were from Sweden, one from India, and another from China. Out of the 100 or so activities we have listed on our site, they chose to take a Calligraphy lesson. The teacher is famous not only for her skills in Shodo, but for her beauty and charm. The men didn’t just choose this activity just because the teacher’s cute though.
All five customers wanted to try something traditional, and calligraphy was the best suited they thought; it was all their first time doing “Shodo” too. The five customers are mechanics who fly from country to country – a job that requires finesse and patience; “Shodo” is the same as well. The practice requires a person to take special care in every single brush stroke. The angle in which the brush touches the paper or the amount of pressure applied to the brush are all very important when doing “Shodo”. The five decided to write their wife’s name in Chinese characters, so they took extra care.
Hi this is Yuki Yamashita, intern at FindJPN. This is going to be out of the blue but have you ever watched “Totoro? It’s a famous film animation produced by “Ghibli”. Along with Tezuka Osamu and Fujiko F. Fujio, “GHIBLI” is well known by many around the world as pretty much representing Japanese Animation.
There’s even a theme park in Japan called GHIBLI museum that has Ghibli characters and designs! And because of “Ghibli”’s fame and popularity, this theme park is listed on guidebooks – making it a famous sightseeing area.
But, I was shocked.
