Learn How to Make Chirashizushi From a Chef

Details

I’ve made easy-to-use recipes that can be used back in your home country. The recipes consist of ingredients that can be bought at your local supermarket!

In this activity, we will be making "Chirashizushi"

1) Steamed Japanese rice with sushi on top.

- Instead of using a rice cooker, we will cook rice with a pot using a easy but efficient method. With the cooked rice, we will make vinegar rice on which we will put shrimp, salted salmon roe, eggs, and seasonal vegetables.

2) Miso soup

- In countries other than Japan more than bonito flakes bonito powder is easier to purchase, so we will use bonito powder (bonito flakes can be used on request). Depending on the season, we will also change up the vegetables in the soup.

Also at the end of this activity, I will have a small gift for you to take back!

* Each course will take around two to three hours to cook and dine. Clean-up will be done afterwards by our staff, so no worries there!

For an extra 5000yen, there will be service of the following:

Hiyayako (冷や奴 cold tofu) with service of sake (also called "atsukan") and Japanese Tea Ceremony at a table served with seasonal “Wagashi”

With this service, we will also be making soy sauce - a typical Japaneses sauce (used on a variety of dishes) that will be dripped on the tofu.

Wagashi is a traditional type of candy in Japan served differently depending on the season.
