Making your own pottery!

This activity is not active.

Details

Across the world, Japan is famous for making pottery – part of the reason being that each region of Japan creates its pottery in its own way, in its own unique way.

In this activity, you will make a type of plate called "Kamamoto" at an atelier in Tokyo.
You will start by choosing a brand of special sand for the pottery and then create it with a machine called “Rokuro”.

You will have to carefully consider what kind of sand you use because the color of the pottery changes quite drastically depending on the kind you choose.

But don’t worry; a pottery specialist will help you while you work on your pottery. So feel free to ask any questions at any time during the activity.
