Hida Satoyama Cycling
Hida Satoyama Cycling started as a service to connect the local residents with visitors to the area. While the goal of the service remains the same today, the program has matured into a guided experience that helps visitors learn about the lives of the people in the area. The Hida Satoyama Cycling tours received recognition from Japan's Environmental Minister in March 2011 for the sustainable nature of the tours and for being able to fully immerse participants in the area's culture and natural beauty. The people of Hida Satoyama hope to continue these cycling tours to continue raising awareness of the area's natural beauty and their local culture.
